According to the delivery record, Agri VMA has fully handed over 250 tons of CT16 rice to the Cuban partner. This rice was cultivated and harvested right in the Los Palacios area, packaged in 50 kg bags. The ceremony was witnessed by Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long, Cuban Deputy Minister of Agriculture Telce González Morera, and representatives from relevant agencies of both countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Le Quang Long emphasized that in the context of Cuba facing numerous difficulties due to the prolonged impact of U.S. embargo measures, the continued maintenance and expansion of production by Vietnamese enterprises in Cuba is of practical significance. This action affirms the determination and companionship of Vietnamese businesses in supporting Cuba to ensure food security. The Ambassador also urged the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture to continue facilitating mechanisms and policies to reassure Vietnamese enterprises in expanding their investment in agriculture. He expressed confidence that Agri VMA's success will motivate more Vietnamese businesses to seek investment opportunities in Cuba.
Deputy Minister Telce González Morera highly appreciated the efforts of Vietnam and Agri VMA in implementing the rice cultivation project in Los Palacios. He affirmed that this is a vivid testament to the special solidarity and loyalty between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Cuba and Vietnam; and it also contributes to concretizing the policy of enhancing agricultural production cooperation, technology transfer, and cultivation experience.

The rice production project in Los Palacios district, Pinar del Río province by Agri VMA is one of Cuba's key agricultural projects. The project focuses on applying high-quality Vietnamese rice varieties (CT16), cultivation processes, and field management based on Vietnamese experience, gradually enhancing productivity, improving rice quality, and reducing dependence on imports.
The delivery of 250 tons of rice this time demonstrates the determination of Vietnamese enterprises to maintain stable production in Cuba, despite challenges in materials, finance, and operations due to objective conditions. Additionally, this is also a concrete result of close coordination between the relevant agencies of both countries, especially the Cuban Ministry of Agriculture and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, in promoting agricultural cooperation projects to achieve substantive and effective outcomes.
The event once again reaffirms the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, with agricultural cooperation continuing to be one of the important pillars, contributing to supporting Cuba in gradually ensuring food security and sustainable development.
