16th National Assembly elects Vice Chairpersons, Standing Committee members

On the afternoon of April 6, at the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the National Assembly continued with personnel work. During the session, the National Assembly voted to approve the resolutions for electing the Vice Chairpersons and members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.
The resolution to elect the Vice Chairpersons of the 16th National Assembly was passed with 496 out of 496 delegates voting in favor (equivalent to 100% of the present delegates and 99.20% of the total deputies).
According to the approved resolution, the 16th National Assembly has six Vice Chairpersons, including: Do Van Chien, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Doan Anh, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Nguyen Thi Hong, and Nguyen Hong Dien.
Among the six newly elected personnel, three are new appointees: Nguyen Doan Anh, a member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Hong Dien, a member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee; and Nguyen Thi Hong, a member of the Central Committee of the Party and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term. Three re-elected Vice Chairpersons are Do Van Chien, a member of the Politburo; Nguyen Khac Dinh, a member of the Central Committee of the Party; and Nguyen Thi Thanh, a member of the Central Committee of the Party.
According to the announced results, the National Assembly also passed the resolution to elect members of the Standing Committee of the 16th National Assembly, with 487 out of 487 delegates voting in favour (equivalent to 100% of the present deputies and 97.40% of the total deputies).
Immediately after the results were announced, General Secretary To Lam, on behalf of the deputies of the 16th National Assembly, presented flowers to congratulate National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the Vice Chairpersons, and members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.
During this afternoon's session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man handed over the resolution of approval to the Heads of the Delegations of National Assembly Deputies.
