On June 9, in Luanda, the Vietnamese Business Association in Angola (abbreviated as AEVNA) officially launched after one year of preparation.
Attending the event were Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Duong Chinh Chuc, Chairman of the Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vicente Francisco Soares, Secretary-General of the National Assembly of Angola Manuel Lopes Moniz Dembo, representatives of the local government of Camama where the Association is based, a representative of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Angola Nguyen Thi Ngan Thanh, and nearly 50 delegates consisting of Vietnamese businessmen in Angola, staff from the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola, and guests.
The Vietnamese Business Association in Angola conducted a General Assembly, approved the Charter, and elected the Executive and Inspection Committees for the term 2024-2027.

In his congratulatory speech, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc highlighted that the event marks a significant period of new development for the Vietnamese business community in Angola.
The Ambassador emphasized that the establishment of the Association is primarily to further consolidate unity, mutual support within the community, create a common playing field, fair and transparent rules for Vietnamese businessmen in Angola, share opportunities for welfare, employment, support each other in overcoming difficulties, solve issues raised; enhance the status of Vietnamese people in Angola, and contribute to promoting economic relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Expressing a desire for the government, local authorities, and various economic and social organizations in Angola to support, facilitate, and create conditions for effective operations of the Association, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc committed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola would always accompany the Association.
Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular and our Party and State in general always give great attention and support to the Vietnamese community and businessmen abroad in general and in Angola in particular.

On behalf of the Executive Committee for the term 2024-2027, Mr. Phung Dac Minh Chau affirmed that the Executive Committee and all members of the Vietnamese Business Association in Angola will continuously strive to support and protect the legitimate interests of each Vietnamese businessman in Angola, actively contribute to promoting economic exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of both nations.
In 2014, an initiative was launched to establish the Vietnamese Business Association in Angola, but due to various objective and subjective reasons, the Association was not established. In November 2023, at the request of the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola, a campaign committee for the establishment of the Vietnamese Business Association was formed.
After several consultations among Vietnamese businesses in Angola, with advice and guidance from the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola and the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Angola, the Vietnamese Business Association was officially established on June 9th.

Following the first Congress, the Association will proceed with the necessary procedures to complete the structure of the Executive and Inspection Committees and other functional committees, request the Angolan government to recognize its legal status, and seek recognition from the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.
Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc expressed a desire for the government, local authorities, and various economic and social organizations of Angola to support, assist, and facilitate the efficient operation of the Association.
Currently, there are over 10,000 Vietnamese living and working in Angola, the majority of whom are small traders, with many businesses operating in various fields such as construction, mechanics, food services, and agriculture and forestry.
