Since November 2018, the level-2 field hospital No.2 was gathered at the Vietnam’s Department of Peacekeeping Operations to attend the pre-deployment training course at the request of the United Nations in the forthcoming 3 months.

The training content includes: Basic knowledge of UN Peacekeeping, knowledge of the level-2 field hospital No.2. mission’s situation, survival skills in environmental conditions of Africa, detection of bombs, mines, explosives...

At the request of the United Nations, a level-2 field hospital needs to ensure such capabilities as: Examining and treating up to 40 outpatients a day; ability of emergency resuscitation and air, road transportation of severe diseases to higher level hospitals; performing 3 to 4 surgical operations per day; providing hospitalization for 10 to 20 casualties for up to seven days; owning two mobile medical emergency teams; self-sufficient of consumable medical supplies - medicines in any situation...

The training of Vietnam in pre-deployment of the level-2 field hospital No.2 is a premise to well prepare for the replacement of the level-2 field hospital No.1, which is carrying out the peace-keeping task of the United Nations in South Sudan.
