Specifically, Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, on behalf of the Government of Vietnam, handed over made-in-Vietnam face masks and medical supplies, worth US$100,000 to Japanese Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam Asaduma Sinnichi.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung handed over 50,000 medical masks to the Japanese Prime Minister’s Office.
Deputy Ambassador Asaduma Sinnichi extended thanks to the Government and people of Vietnam for their valuable assistance, considering it as a source of encouragement for his country.
He also thanked the Government for having taken care of 20,000 Japanese nationals living and working in the Southeast Asian country.
Earlier on March 31, Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu said his country pledged to provide at least ¥200 million in aid to help Vietnam fight COVID-19, during his phone talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

The same day, Permanent Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, handed over 200,000 made-in-Vietnam face masks to American Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink.
Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung also handed over 50,000 face masks to the White House’s Office.
Ambassador Kritenbrink spoke highly of Vietnam’s responses to COVID-19, extending thanks to the Government and people of Vietnam for the valuable assistance to his coutry.
The diplomat affirmed the US will continue fostering cooperation with Vietnam in protecting health and safety of people in joint efforts to contain the pandemic.

Also on April 16, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, authorized by the Prime Minister, handed over 50,000 face masks to Russian Presidential Executive Office.
Earlier, Vietnam had offered financial support and medical supplies to several partners, including Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
