In his opening remarks, Ambassador of Morocco to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi affirmed that under the leadership of King Mohammed VI over the past 26 years, Rabat's path of development has been a journey of remarkable transformation, thanks to bold reforms, an ambitious development strategy, and tireless efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity. With resilient will and enduring spirit, Morocco has achieved notable accomplishments in economic diversification, poverty reduction, renewable energy development, and regional connectivity.

Morocco is actively preparing to host major international sporting events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup. These tournaments are driving large-scale national development plans, including investments in modern transportation systems, the construction of advanced stadiums, and the upgrading of infrastructure. These efforts not only aim to meet international standards but also demonstrate Rabat’s determination for development, leaving a lasting infrastructure legacy for future generations.

According to Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi, the celebration coincides with the 64th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Vietnam (1961–2026) — a relationship built on mutual respect, shared principles, and a history of fruitful cooperation. The visit to Vietnam by Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco Rachid Talbi Alami in January, along with the recent visit to Morocco by Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man, are vivid examples of the sincere political commitment from both sides to expand and deepen the partnership.

Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi expressed his hope that bilateral cooperation will continue to grow strongly, based on a shared determination to build a prosperous and sustainable future. The two countries are fully capable of overcoming challenges together, in a spirit of mutual respect, sincere cooperation, and solid solidarity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that, as a friend of Morocco, Vietnam congratulates Rabat on its significant progress in pursuing the goals of “Vision 2030,” particularly in industrialization, innovation, energy transition, and sustainable development. Vietnam believes that, with its strategic vision and ongoing spirit of reform, Morocco will continue to develop robustly and increasingly assert its role and position in the region and the world.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang said: “I always cherish fond memories of Morocco from my visit in October 2023. Upon arriving in Marrakech, I was deeply impressed not only by the magnificent architecture and colourful markets but also by the country’s long-standing history, vibrant and rich culture, resilient spirit, and clear vision that has shaped the Moroccan people.”

The year 2025 will be a key milestone for Vietnam–Morocco relations, as both countries prepare to celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Over the past six decades, the friendship and good cooperation between the two countries have been continuously strengthened and positively developed, in a spirit of mutual respect and shared interests. The two sides have maintained regular dialogue mechanisms, exchanged delegations at various levels, and cooperated across many fields such as politics, economy, trade, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed sincere appreciation to the government of Rabat for offering numerous scholarships to Vietnamese students to study in Morocco. She also affirmed her belief that the young generations of both countries will serve as a strong bridge, contributing to the sustainable and long-lasting development of the current good relationship into the future.
