The border guards of the two countries inspected the situation of Marker No. 455, which is located at an altitude of 1,300m above sea level.

They joined hands to clean up the area around the marker and then exchanged information on protecting border security.

At the end of the event, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding and agreed on a time for the next joint patrol.

On the occasion, Company 252 of the Laos’ Bolikhamsai provincial High Command presented gifts to the border guards of the Ngoc Lam border post, to congratulate the latter on the 78th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2023).

The joint patrol is held to detect cases in violation of border regulations, and maintain political security stability, social order and safety along the Vietnam-Laos shared border.

Similar joint patrols are also being held between border guards of Nghe An Province and Laos localities, to maintain border security during Vietnam’s four-day holiday from September 1-4, to celebrate National Day (September 2).
