The three-day exhibition drew 47 delegations from more than 40 countries in the region and the world, and 250 enterprises from 25 nations, showing the latest technologies in the fields of defence and navigation.
Opening the event, Singaporean Minister of Defence Ng Eng Hen said that IMDEX 2023 provided an important platform to maintain and enhance regional stability and security. He called on participants to make use of the event to promote cooperation, consensus and strengthen mutual understanding, contributing to maintain peace and stability in the region.
On this occasion, Rear Admiral Nguyen Dinh Hung paid a courtesy call to Chief of Staff of the Singaporean Navy Rear Admiral Edwin Leong.
The same day, Singapore’s Chief of Defence Force Rear Admiral Aaron Beng visited Vietnam’s 015-Tran Hung Dao ship. Rear Admiral Aaron Beng highly valued Vietnam’s participation in the ASEAN-India Maritime Exercise (AIME) 2023 and IMDEX 2023, showing the country’s commitment to coordinate with the Singaporean Navy and contributing to the success of the events.
Rear Admiral Aaron Beng also expressed his hope to welcome Rear Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem, Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, in Singapore at an appropriate time.
