Acknowledging the North African nation’s increasing international and regional role as well as its similarities and growing relations with Vietnam, Xuan said room for bilateral cooperation expansion remains tremendous.

She recommended the two countries step up exchange of delegations at all levels, forge coordination via the bilateral cooperation mechanism, and support each other at multilateral forums. The sides need to review and supplement their mechanisms and agreements for joint work across sectors and strengthen the connectivity between their business communities to seek new investment and business opportunities.

Underscoring the effectiveness of cooperation through the parliamentary channel, the Vice President expressed her wish for stronger collaboration between Vietnam and Morocco at global and regional inter-parliamentary forums.

Vietnam is willing to act as a bridge builder between Morocco and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and hopes to receive the same support from Morocco for its relationships with the African Union (AU)’s member states, she noted. It is also necessary for the sides to boost their partnership in the areas of education-training, culture-tourism, locality-to-locality cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

Sharing his impression on Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, Najib El-Khadi, who is also President of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP), held that the two countries have much in common when it comes to building and developing their nations. Both place a high value on and actively promote South-South cooperation, he said, stressing that they are now on the same path of development, leveraging their respective strengths to further enhance and tighten their relationship.
