To strenghthen Vietnam-Cambodia youth cooperation

As part of his speech, Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union, showed his elation and appreciation for the working visit to Vietnam by the high-ranking Youth Union delegation to mark the occasion of the two countries solemnly celebrating the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations. In addition, both sides marked the 45th anniversary of Prime Minister Hun Sen's "Path to overthrow the genocidal regime of Pol Pot".
The event saw both sides review the various successes in co-operation activities between the two youth unions over recent times, especially the sharing and spirit of solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid a complicated situation, Luong proposed a number of contents aimed at enhancing co-operative efficiency between the two countries' youth moving forward, including the rotation of high-level delegations, youth friendship meetings, and online talks and exchanges.
This is in addition to strengthening the education of young people to boost the traditional friendship, comprehensive, and long-term sustainable co-operation that exists between the two countries, as well as promoting the expansion of fields and objects of co-operation and co-ordination in the multilateral mechanism.
Appreciating the relationship between the two associations over recent times, Hun Many, President of the Cambodia Youth Union, expressed his agreement with the proposals for youth co-operation, especially in building ties between border provinces of the two countries. Simultaneously, he proposed expanding youth co-operation between the two nations.
Emphasising the importance of signing a co-operation agreement between the Youth Unions of the two countries for the 2022 to 2027 period, Luong said that this is the basis for the relationship between the two countries. The co-operative relationship between the two organisations has therefore achieved plenty of success, creating more favourable conditions for stronger youth co-operation moving forward.
The Vietnam Youth Union will therefore direct and concretise the signed contents and widely disseminate them so that union members and young people can actively participate in areas of co-operation as a contribution to the success of the of the co-operation agreement between the youth of the two countries, Luong added.
