
Thai Nguyen celebrates 20th anniversary of cooperation with RoK’s Gyeongsangbuk-do

Speaking at the ceremony, Kang Seok-Hee, Deputy Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stressed that over the past two decades, the two provinces have made significant strides in cultural exchange, education, and socio-economic development, environment, and community welfare. Notably, key projects include efforts to implement the Saemaul Undong new village model, education cooperation between schools, primary teacher training, non-governmental aid programmes, and FDI projects from Korean enterprises.
The RoK official expressed his belief that this collaboration will further deepen the friendship and partnership between the two provinces, making a positive contribution to their growth and fostering stronger, more substantive and effective ties between their countries.

Thai Nguyen and Gyeongsangbuk-do first signed a friendship cooperation agreement in 2005. In 2019, both sides inked a memorandum of understanding to broaden cooperation based on respect, equality, and mutual benefit. Thai Nguyen’s Dinh Hoa district, Song Cong city, and Pho Yen city have to date established partnerships with the RoK’s Cheongdo county, Mungyeong city, and Chilgok county, respectively.
