WVR - On the morning of April 1, the Spouse of President Luong Cuong, Madam Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, and Queen Mathilde of Belgium visited Uncle Ho’s Stilt house - a place closely associated with the life of President Ho Chi Minh from 1958 to 1969.

Immediately following the official welcome ceremony, Spouse of President Luong Cuong, Madame Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and Queen Mathilde of Belgium paid a visit to Uncle Ho’s stilt house – a historical site intimately connected with his life and work between 1958 and 1969.

Madame Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and Queen Mathilde were introduced to the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, a historical and cultural landmark of great national significance.

Spanning 14.7 hectares, the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site includes 20 historical structures and outdoor monuments, along with a collection of 1,738 documents and artifacts. These invaluable materials vividly depict the life, career, ideology, ethics, and exemplary lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.

All artifacts and historical landmarks within the site have been meticulously preserved, maintaining their authenticity as they were during President Ho Chi Minh’s lifetime.

During their visit, Madame Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and Queen Mathilde also participated in the tradition of feeding the fish in the pond, a daily practice that was dear to President Ho Chi Minh.

Queen Mathilde particularly praised the elegance of Madame Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet’s Ao dai, noting that she always admires the traditional Vietnamese dress whenever she visits Vietnam. She fondly recalled her previous visits, first in 2012 as Crown Princess of Belgium alongside Crown Prince Philippe and again in 2023 as the Honorary President of UNICEF Belgium. Queen Mathilde holds a deep affection for Vietnam and enjoys visiting its many provinces and local communities.
