Earlier, on March 18, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son held a phone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Cho Tae-yul.
In recent years, Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have witnessed remarkable progress in their bilateral ties, especially since the elevation of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022. Vietnam remains a key partner in the Republic of Korea’s regional foreign policy.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen political trust through all-level delegation exchanges, especially at the high level; promote bilateral trade cooperation with the goal of raising trade turnover to 100 billion USD in the near future and encourage Korean enterprises to invest and expand operations in Vietnam in sectors of Korean strength and Vietnamese demand.
Both sides also agreed to continue close coordination in effectively implementing the common understanding reached by high-level leaders, including promoting delegation exchanges on the occasion of Vietnam’s hosting of the 4th Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit.
