River Festival - a must-see attraction of Ho Chi Minh City tourism
The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival 2024 will recreate the Western floating market, organize an open river swimming tournament, a Stand Up Paddling championship and a water motorbike demonstration.

The HCM City Department of Tourism held a press conference about the 2nd City River Festival on May 8.
At the event, the organizers announced that it would increase the duration, expand the scale and diversity of activities through inter-sectoral coordination, as well as the participation and response of districts, travel and tourism businesses in the city.
The highlight of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival in 2024 is also the art program “Legendary Boat”. This is a grand opera with a historical theme, combined with many modern performance technologies, gathering about 1,000 performers.
Director of the City Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said that immediately after the opening ceremony scheduled for May 31, a special artistic fireworks display will take place, which is also a highlight of this year’s event.
In addition, aiming to stimulate inner-city tourism, the city tourism industry will launch waterway tourism products under the theme “Legendary Boat” and promote linking activities between provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and the Southeastern region, in order to build a common tourism brand.
In response to the 2nd City River Festival, districts and tourism businesses also organize cultural and art spaces, southern fruit festival, and river cuisine contest.
The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival will take place from May 31 to June 9, at Nha Rong Area, Khanh Hoi - Saigon Port (District 4).
