From May 26-27, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh attended the 27th International Conference on The Future of Asia (FOA 2022); at the same time, had a working visit in Japan. Speaking at the Conference with the theme “Redefining Asia’s role in a divided world”, the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister raised a number of important proposals to strengthen cooperation and maintain prosperity at the regional and global level, to promote the role of Asia.

At the 52nd Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) with the theme "History at a turning point: Government policies and Business strategies" opened on May 23 in Davos, In Switzerland, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai raised five important proposals of Vietnam. The Deputy Prime Minister spoke at the sessions on "A Digital ASEAN for All" and the Leaders' Dialogue on "Building a Resilient Economy for Sustainable Growth" on May 24; visited the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, and worked with its Deputy Director-General Zhang Xiangchen on May 25; attended many bilateral activities at WEF Davos.

Multilateral activities
On May 27, addressing at the opening of the International Workshop on "Protection against Violence and Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity: International and Vietnam’s Experiences", Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed Vietnam's consistent stance on protecting and promoting human rights in the spirit of ensuring all human rights for all.
On May 26, Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan chaired the regular meeting of Heads of Mission of ASEAN countries (ASEAN HOM) in Yangon, Myanmar.
On May 25, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held an annual open debate on the topic "Protecting civilians in armed conflict". Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, made a speech calling for augmented efforts to protect civilians in armed conflicts.
On May 25, two Vietnamese agencies were elected to the ESCAP Governing Councils. The General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam and the Vietnam Institute of Agricultural Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology (VIAEP) were elected to the Governing Councils of the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) and the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanisation (CSAM) under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

On May 24, the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the UN together with the Missions of Switzerland, Senegal, Slovenia, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the International Red Cross Society (ICRC), and the Organization for Peace (PAX) organized an online debate on the topic of protecting water resources and water supply infrastructure in armed conflict. Addressing the debate, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang affirmed the country’s viewpoint that water security is a foundation of peace, stability and development for every country and community.
On May 24, as the coordinator of ASEAN-Korea relations for the 2021-2024 term, Ambassador Nguyen Hai Bang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN, has co-chaired the 9th meeting of the ASEAN-Korea Joint Cooperation Committee (AK JCC) with the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Ambassador to ASEAN Kwon Hee-seog at the Headquarters of the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.

On May 26, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responding to the possibility of Vietnam joining the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), Foreign Minister Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang said:
“During the discussion, Vietnam will work with ASEAN countries and relevant partners to clarify the contents of the IPEF, focusing on four pillars: Trade, Supply Chain, Clean energy, decarbonization and infrastructure; and Taxation and anti-corruption, in order to have a positive, efficient, and workable economic agenda for the region and for each country, towards a collaborative framework that delivers essential benefits for the people, for peace, stability, cooperation, development and prosperity in the region and for the world at large.
Vietnam believes that the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) should be based on open, inclusive and transparent principles in line with international law, ASEAN's central role and complementing existing economic links."

On May 26, the United Nations awarded its medal to three officers of the Vietnam People’s Army who are working at this organization’s headquarters in New York, USA, on Peacekeeper’s Day (May 29).
