On June 5, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai paid a working visit to Győr - a key industrial, educational, and cultural hub in Western Hungary.
During meetings with the Mayor and senior officials of Győr, the city’s leadership provided an overview of its socio-economic development and highlighted its strong capabilities in the automotive industry, high technology, university education, scientific research, sports, tourism, and cultural heritage preservation.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai congratulated Győr on its dynamic development achievements and emphasized the potential for cooperation between the city and Vietnamese localities, especially in sectors where both sides possess complementary strengths.

During the discussions, both sides explored concrete directions for future cooperation. They agreed on the importance of enhancing connections between business communities, increasing the number of Vietnamese students and researchers at Győr’s universities and research institutions, and exploring the possibility of receiving skilled Vietnamese workers in the fields of automotive assembly and parts manufacturing.
They also discussed expanding cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges, as well as studying the potential for establishing a sister-city relationship between Győr and a suitable locality in Vietnam.
Ambassador Bui Le Thai's visit to Győr contributed to fostering practical local-level cooperation and played a part in deepening the Vietnam-Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
