Following the successful return of the 20th anniversary edition of MTA Vietnam 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City this past July, MTA Hanoi 2024 will showcase thousands of advanced technologies to cater to the growing demand for equipment and machinery in industrial zones across Hanoi and neighboring provinces.
Exhibits at this show will focus on metal cutting, metal forming, sheet metal cutting machines; cutting tools & tooing systems; mould and die; material handling & storage; welding technology; surface & heat treatment; measurement & testing technology; software and prototyping systems; automation solutions, as well as a wide range of factory equipment, ancillary, supporting equipment and general services.
Furthermore, MTA Hanoi feature a dedicated exhibition area for cutting-edge automation technology called VINRA (Vietnam Industrial Robotics and Automation Event), which is firstly launched at MTA Vietnam last year. The event will also offer a series of in-depth seminars focused on smart and sustainable manufacturing towards Net-Zero, supply chain of the Vietnamese mechanical industry and ODM (original design manufacturer) capabilities.
These programs are jointly organized by Informa Markets Vietnam in collaboration with prestigious industry associations such as the Vietnam Automation Association (VAA) and Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry (VAMI), promising to make MTA Hanoi a must-attend mechanical engineering exhibition in northern Vietnam.
MTA Hanoi 2024 gathers more than 90 exhibitors from over 13 countries and regions, including China, Germany, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan (China), Thailand, United States and Vietnam.
With a spacious exhibition area of 4,000 sqm, MTA Hanoi 2024 attracts over 6,000 specialized visitors. Notably, the majority of visitors are business owners, board members, and high-level experts with decision-making or influential voices within their companies.
The exhibition also offers a valuable opportunity for professionals in the manufacturing sectos to stay updated on the latest industry trends, through a series of seminars led by top experts. Highlighted seminars include “Revolutionzing approaches: Smart and sustainable manufacturing towards Net-Zero”, co-organized by Informa Markets Vietnam and the Vietnam Automation Association (VAA); “Developing the supply chain of the Vietnamese mechanical industry in the context of globalization”; and “Enhancing ODM capabilities: The key to a competitive and high-value manufacturing model”.
As an emerging sector in manufacturing industry, the semiconductor ecosystem is experiencing significant growth, attracting investment from major international corporations. Notably, in October 2023, Amkor Technology - a leading semiconductor company based in Arizona (USA), inaugurated a 1.6 billion USD plant in Bac Ninh.
Samsung is also at the forefront, with the mass production of semiconductor ball grid array products at its Samsung Electro-Mechanics Vietnam factory in Thai Nguyen. Hana Micron Vina (Korea) recently launched a semiconductor manufacturing plant in the Van Trung Industrial Park (Bac Giang) with an investment of nearly 600 million USD.
Other semiconductor giants such as BE Semiconductor Industries N.V. (Netherlands), Hanmi Semiconductor (Korea), Infineon Technologies AG (Germany), Victory Giant Technology (China), and Synopsys (California, USA) have also begun plans to build and invest in chip manufacturing in Vietnam.
Domestically, FPT Semiconductor, VHT (Viettel), and VNChip Technology have pioneered involvement in some in four general phases of chip production, such as R&D, design, manufacturing/fabrication, assembly, test and packaging.
According to Statista, from 2024 to 2029, the semiconductor industry is expected to grow at an annual rate (CAGR) of 11.48%, reaching a market value of 31.39 billion USD by 2029, positioning Vietnam as a key manufacturing hub for global semiconductor companies.
MTA Hanoi and MTA series in general are expected to support the industry, either directly or indirectly, by providing advanced technologies for both traditional and smart manufacturing, as well as promising emerging fields like semiconductors.
