Opening the meeting, themed "Southeast region's double-digit economic growth for 2025: Challenges, opportunities, and solutions," Prime Minister Chinh underlined that to achieve the goals set by the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the country must strive for sustainable, inclusive development with double-digit growth in the coming years.

The Prime Minister highlighted the role that the Southeast region plays in the country's overall development, urging leaders of all regional localities to focus on evaluating results, identifying key tasks, and proposing solutions, particularly for achieving a double-digit GDP growth or at least 8% in the coming years.

The Government leader suggested that participants examine specific projects such as the development of the Can Gio International Transhipment Port, the International Finance Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the Long Thanh International Airport ecosystem, the Ho Chi Minh City Belt Road No. 4, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, Con Dao Airport, and the flood control project in Ho Chi Minh City. He also emphasised the need to improve institutional development for the entire Southeast region, leveraging each locality's strengths.

The meeting's agenda includes evaluation of the socio-economic situation of the Southeast region, industrial development, export-driving solutions, the development of high-quality human resources in high-tech sectors, urban and rural planning, and improving regional infrastructure for sustainable urbanisation.

The Council will also look at the progress of key regional projects, including the Ho Chi Minh City Beltway 4 road construction, and inter-regional infrastructure development, and the implementation of key projects in the region.
