Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia spoke at a working session in Hanoi on June 16 with the Party Delegation to the Vietnam Journalists' Association (VJA).

The session reviewed Party leadership over VJA activities since its 11th National Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Nghia commended the journalists nationwide on their development and steadfastness, attributing their success to the leadership and guidance of the VJA Party Delegation. He expressed his hope that the VJA would continue to fulfill its role as a key socio-political and professional organisation, serving as a "common home" for journalists across the country, and safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.

The Party Delegation was urged to instruct the VJA and its chapters nationwide to widely disseminate the Party policies and guidelines, the State laws and regulations relating to press activities; direct the review of the 5-year implementation of the Party Central Committee Secretariat’s Directive on strengthening the Party leadership over the VJA’s activities in the new context.

As 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925-2025), Nghia asked the VJA Party Delegation to urgently prepare plans for this event and the VJA’s 12th National Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure.

Le Quoc Minh, Secretary of the VJA Party Delegation, VJA Chairman, Vice Chairman of the Commission for Information and Education and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, reported that since the beginning of its term, the VJA has held over 256 training courses to enhance professional skills and political knowledge for nearly 9,000 members nationwide.

More than 250 Councils have been established at central and local levels to handle professional violations among journalists.
