At the meeting, the Party leader described the ambassadors and consul generals as bridges of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and foreign countries, serving national building and defence.

He said representative offices must reflect the image of Vietnam, thus contributing to promoting culture, land and people of Vietnam abroad and motivating foreign countries to cooperate with Vietnam. 

In reply, the diplomats promised to make all-out efforts to complete their assigned tasks and accelerate the implementation of cooperation agreements Vietnam signed, helping propel friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries and partners. 

They pledged to make outstanding performance in protecting overseas Vietnamese, national sovereignty and the country’s interests while contributing to peace, solidarity, cooperation and development in regions and the world at large.
