NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man attends AIPA-46 Meeting in Kuala Lumpur
WVR - On the morning of September 17, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with a high-level delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly, attended the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) Executive Committee meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, who is also the AIPA-46 President, with the participation of heads of delegations from AIPA member parliaments and the AIPA Secretary-General.
This is the first significant activity within the framework of the AIPA-46 General Assembly, aimed at reviewing and finalizing the agenda, discussion topics of the Committees, the list of draft resolutions, and other important contents to be discussed and approved at the Conference.

Discussing the significance of the AIPA-46 theme “Parliament at the Forefront for an Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN Growth,” parliamentary leaders believe the General Assembly's theme aligns and resonates with the overarching theme of the ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2025 “Inclusive and Sustainable.” It also reflects the responsibility and solidarity of AIPA member parliaments in strengthening unity and building a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centered ASEAN Community.

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man praised Malaysia's preparations and affirmed Vietnam's delegation support, close cooperation with the Malaysian Parliament and AIPA member parliaments, and active contribution to the overall success of the AIPA-46 General Assembly, contributing to promoting inclusive and sustainable development in the region.
The National Assembly Chairman also appreciated the support from member countries' parliaments for the draft resolutions proposed by Vietnam and submitted to the AIPA-46 General Assembly for approval. These aim to foster cooperation in priority areas such as the digital economy and digital transformation, cybersecurity, enhancing intra-regional trade, improving cooperation with partners, and promoting the role of parliamentary diplomacy in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Also on September 17, Vietnamese National Assembly delegates participated in the fourth ASEAN-AIPA Dialogue on the theme “Building an Inclusive and Sustainable Future,” the AIPA Women Leaders Forum on the theme “Women Leaders in Future Governance: Leading Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development,” and the AIPA Young Parliamentarians discussion session on the theme “Youth in Action.”
