National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly welcomed Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo on his official visit to Vietnam. He emphasized the significance of the visit, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950-2025), contributing to further strengthening the traditional friendship and enhancing parliamentary cooperation.
Affirming the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two nations, with Hungary being one of the first ten countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam, NA Chairman Man highlighted Vietnam's gratitude for Hungary's valuable support during its struggle for independence and unification, as well as in its current development efforts. He reiterated Vietnam's commitment to fostering a strong traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Hungary, its first comprehensive partner in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Hungarian National Assembly Speaker praised and congratulated Vietnam on its significant achievements in renovation, national development, and international integration. He expressed confidence that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam would be successful, ushering the country into a new era of development, prosperity, and strength.
The Head of the Hungarian National Assembly affirmed that in its Eastward foreign policy, Hungary always regards Vietnam as its most important partner in Southeast Asia and seeks to develop cooperation across all fields. Despite geographical, cultural, and historical differences, few countries have as close a relationship with Hungary as Vietnam. There remains ample room for cooperation in economics, trade, investment, tourism, education, and training.
The Hungarian National Assembly Speaker thanked NA Chairman Man, the leadership, and the people of Vietnam for their warm and attentive reception. He reiterated Hungary's commitment to deepening relations with Vietnam across all sectors.

In a friendly, sincere, and open atmosphere, both sides updated each other on their respective national situations and parliamentary activities. They appreciated the positive developments in bilateral relations, reflected in high-level meetings and dynamic cooperation between the two parliaments, with frequent exchanges of parliamentary leaders, committees, and friendship groups, as well as close coordination at inter-regional and international parliamentary forums, especially the IPU.
The two leaders agreed to continue enhancing exchanges and delegations at all levels, particularly high-level ones, across Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and people-to-people channels to further build political trust and mutual understanding, laying the foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in all fields.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo agreed to deepen cooperation in fields such as science and technology, education and training, environmental resources, healthcare, and culture and tourism.

Discussing parliamentary cooperation, NA Chairman Man shared key highlights of the 10th session of the 15th National Assembl. He emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation in bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed to enhance exchanges of high-level parliamentary leaders, specialized committees, and friendship groups to share information and experiences in parliamentary activities. They also agreed to cooperate in overseeing and supporting the government in effectively implementing high-level agreements and commitments. The two sides concurred on the main theme for the 6th legislative seminar between the two parliaments, scheduled for the first half of 2026, and committed to strengthening coordination and mutual support at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums such as the IPU and ASEP to contribute to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
During the talks, both parties affirmed the importance of ensuring peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, resolving disputes peacefully in accordance with international law, and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS 1982).
On this occasion, NA Chairman Man thanked and requested the Hungarian National Assembly and government at all levels to continue facilitating the integration and stable life of the Vietnamese community in Hungary.
After the talks, Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo and his delegation attended the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly. Later that day, NA Chairman Man hosted a formal reception for the Hungarian National Assembly delegation.
