During his stay, President Nyusi paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and laid a wreath at the monument to fallen heroes and martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
He attended an official welcome ceremony, held talks with Party General Secretary and State President Lam, and witnessed the signing of key cooperation documents. He also attended a banquet hosted by the Vietnamese top leader and held a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Vietnamese leaders warmly welcomed President Nyusi and his entourage, expressing confidence that the visit would generate new momentum for the solidarity, cooperation, and traditional friendship between the two countries.
President Nyusi praised Vietnam's robust development and its esteemed position and reputation on the international stage, attributing these achievements to the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
He conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Mozambican State and people over the passing of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a great friend of the Mozambican people. Additionally, he expressed solidarity and sympathy with the Vietnamese people as they are dealing with the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi.
Leaders from both countries engaged in comprehensive and in-depth discussions on the current situation in their respective nations and explored specific directions and measures to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
Key agreements signed during the visit included a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on energy and mineral cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Mozambican Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, and another between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Mozambican Ministry of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries.
The Mozambican leader visited and held working sessions with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and military-run telecom provider Viettel.
Meanwhile, Ngo Phuong Ly, Spouse of Party General Secretary and President Lam, and Isaura Ferrao Nyusi,Sspouse of President Nyusi, toured the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum.
