Binh noted that the inception of VMC is anticipated to open up an array of bright prospects for the local tourism industry moving forward, adding that the club is required to make thorough preparations in order to lead and promote MICE tourism (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions) model as an important part of tourism in Viet Nam.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Duc Anh, chairman of VMC, emphasised that the club which is comprised of more than 60 members who are reputable tourism firms, communications companies, and accommodation facilities, is expected to become a pioneer pushing forward the development of MICE tourism locally.

In addition, the club also aims to establish a professional, civilised, and integrated MICE tourism business community, whilst simultaneously creating advantages in terms of product development, he noted.

This year, he said, the VMC plans to organise “Cat Ba Island Marathon 2022 - Run for Green, Run for Tourism", co-operate with Da Nang to develop products on MICE tourism, and work alongside major hotels in localities such as Quang Ninh and Hai Phong that possess great potential for MICE tourism to develop the model.

The VMC plan to become a vanguard in applying digital technology for tourism events, trade fairs, and exhibitions while also striving to organise MICE tourism fairs in the region in the time ahead, Anh concluded.
