The event was chaired by Secretary of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne and Head of Central Committee for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam Hoang Binh Quan.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of State Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne expressed his happiness on his first visit to Vietnam. He stated that 2018 is an important year for both Vietnam and France, marking the enduring relations that was and will always be tighten.

He was very happy to be the first minister of the new French government to visit Vietnam and hoped in the future that more and more of his collegues will also spend time in Vietnam to promote the bilateral relationship.

On his part, Mr. Hoang Binh Quan lauded the visit made by Mr. Lemoyne. He affirmed that Vietnam has always valued and appreciated the relationship between Vietnam and France over the past years with many good progress. He also said that Vietnam is hopeful that the relationship will continue to flourish in the future.

In addition, the event witnessed the launching of the official logo that will be used throughout all the activities of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France. Especially, this logo is not drawn by professional designers, but the work of an 8th grade student studying at the French international school Alexandre Yersin. It is inspired by her own schoolmates - the Vietnamese and French students playing and dancing together in the school yard.
