On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2025), the Vietnamese Embassy in Brazil, in collaboration with the Group of Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions (GCCM) in Brasília, organized a friendship meeting themed "Ho Chi Minh with Vietnamese Women and the Spirit of International Solidarity".
The meeting held profound significance as it simultaneously commemorated two historical milestones – the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, a genius leader, national liberation hero, and eminent cultural figure of Vietnam, and the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, representing millions of Vietnamese women through various eras.
These sacred milestones together honor the humanistic, progressive ideology and strategic vision of President Ho Chi Minh regarding the role of women and the spirit of international solidarity. He always regarded women as a significant revolutionary force, the "keepers of the flame" of family happiness, and "resilient warriors" on all fronts, from resistance to nation-building.
In her opening remarks at the meeting, Mrs. Pham Thi Thu Hong, the spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil, extended warm greetings to the spouses of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions. She emphasized that from the early days of the revolutionary career, President Ho Chi Minh always cared for, trusted, and highly valued the role of women in society. He once affirmed: "The beautiful rivers and mountains of Vietnam are embroidered and woven by our women, young and old, to become more beautiful and splendid".
According to Ho Chi Minh, women are not only the backbone of the family but also an important social force, "comrades and trusted combat partners" throughout the nation's history. He always encouraged women to rise, learn, contribute, and assert their capabilities and qualities in social life.

Mrs. Pham Thi Thu Hong also shared that President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on international solidarity not only contributed to the victory of the Vietnamese revolution but also spread profound humanistic values worldwide. He always valued the friendship between the Vietnamese people and international friends, especially emphasizing the solidarity among women of progressive nations, viewing it as one of the foundations for building a peaceful, just, and humane world.
Concluding her speech, Mrs. Hong emotionally recalled President Ho Chi Minh's famous saying: "Our women are not ordinary, conquering East and West, setting an example for life" and wished the spouses and international friends health, happiness, and success.
In response, Mrs. Annet Baingana, spouse of the Rwandan Ambassador and President of the GCCM, expressed sincere gratitude to the Vietnamese Embassy for the thoughtful, solemn, and meaningful preparation. Mrs. Annet Baingana emphasized her deep admiration for the resilient, compassionate, and extraordinary spirit of Vietnamese women – who are both resourceful and creative, as well as strong and courageous in life.
She affirmed that this spirit is a testament to the strength and role of women worldwide. Women, regardless of nationality, can become a source of inspiration and a bridge of peace and friendship among nations. We need to continue to unite, share, and together spread these beautiful values for a more equal and humane world.
