The Board for Information, Education, and Mass Mobilisation under the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, in collaboration with the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, on February 19 organised a meeting with representatives of the local Muslim community on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Nguyen Manh Cuong, Head of the Board, praised Muslim dignitaries and followers on behalf of the city's leaders for their contributions to patriotic emulation movements and their active role in fulfilling the city’s socio-economic development, defence, and security tasks and targets for 2024.

Ho Chi Minh City has always paid close attention to providing both material and spiritual support for the Muslim community, ensuring their development alongside the city’s overall growth, he said.

Mohamed Amine, Secretary of the Board of Representatives of the Muslim Community in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed gratitude for the care and attention given by the city’s leaders and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to the local Muslim community. He affirmed that the community would continue its active participation in the movements and campaigns initiated by local authorities and the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels.

Ramadan, a significant religious occasion for the Cham Muslim community in Ho Chi Minh City and Muslims worldwide, is expected to begin on February 28 or March 1 this year (depending on the moon sighting) and will conclude 30 days later.
