Hau Giang has many convenient points in terms of traffic. It is bordered to the North by Can Tho City - the dynamic center of the Mekong Delta. Regarding industrial development, the province promotes investment attraction, especially property investment in industrial clusters, according to the provincial plan. Currently, the province is calling for key industries, creating high added value, less labor intensive such as the high-tech industry, the machine manufacturing industry, the electronics industry, the clean energy industry, service industries with high added value, projects to produce export goods and replace imports.
Regarding agricultural development, the province calls on businesses to invest in projects to deal with the province's abundant raw materials, such as: rice, aquatic products, pineapples, tropical fruits of all kinds; calling for key agricultural economic sectors, creating effective agricultural production; calling for effective investment in agricultural and commodity offtake contracts, 4-house linkage program, especially domestic and foreign development cooperation programs in the field of agricultural economic development, farmers, countryside; promote economic cooperation links between enterprises and cooperatives, farmer households.
Regarding urban development, the province has increased calling for investment, speeding up the selection of investors to implement housing development projects in the province according to the housing development plan in Hau Giang province in the 2021- 2025 period. Hau Giang is located on an important traffic axes of the Mekong Delta. Hau Giang also has a dense system of rivers and canals, suitable for the development of river eco-tourism. Besides, the province also organizes many events to introduce the land, people and culture of Hau Giang province to domestic and foreign tourists; building a new website and promoting Hau Giang tourism; compiling and distributing publications on the province's traditional history, potential, tourism strengths, historical and cultural relics in order to serve tourists, overseas Vietnamese, foreign working groups and foreign press delegations working in the province.
In order to cooperate internationally, Hau Giang will continue to launch the market and stimulate tourism with the message “Vietnamese attractive tourism”, “Vietnamese people prioritize traveling to Viet Nam” and respond to the tourism promotion campaign “Live fully in Viet Nam” launched by the National Administration of Tourism.
The province promotes tourism promotion in various forms, especially focusing on the application of information technology in tourism activities: through websites, social networks. The province also built two highlighted tourism products in the 2021-2025 period: cruises on the Xa No canal and Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve connecting with attractions in Phung Hiep district.
