According to the Hanoi Public Transports Management Centre (HPTC), over 5.45 million bus trips were operated in the period, transporting an estimated 410 million passengers, equaling 94.7 per cent of the plan and up 57.1 per cent year-on-year. The total revenue from the bus networks reached about 410.2 billion VND (16.8 million USD).

The BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line alone transported approximately 3.4 million passengers.

Meanwhile, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong metro line transported more than 7 million passengers in Jan – September with an estimated total revenue of 55.1 billion VND.

According to Mr. Vu Hong Truong - General Director of Hanoi Railway Company Limited, in the first phase, the train operated during the social distancing period so the number of daily passengers was only about 10,000 people. But now on working days, the number of visitors is 35,000 people/day.

With buses, the quality of passenger transport services by bus in the Capital has changed. The situation of arbitrarily leaving stops, skipping trips, and running incorrectly on the operating schedule has decreased compared to before.

Old vehicles are completely eliminated, replaced, and supplemented with quality vehicles, over 90% of vehicles are less than 10 years old. The old, degraded bus shelter was also repaired and supplemented to serve passengers.

The culture of buses and trams has gradually formed, attracting people of the Capital to use other types of public passenger transport with quality service.

The quality of passenger transport service by buses in the capital city has recorded significant improvements in both number and quality, the center reported.

Old vehicles have been completely phased out and replaced with higher-quality ones. Deteriorated bus shelters have been maintained and upgraded to better serve passengers.
