In response to the “Action Month for Food Safety 2026”, on April 16, the Hanoi People’s Committee held a launch ceremony for the Food Safety Information Portal at antoanthucpham.hanoi.gov.vn. The event marks a new step forward in the digital transformation of food safety management in the capital.

Ms. Vu Thu Ha, a member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, and Standing Deputy Head of the city’s Food Safety Task Force, along with other delegates, jointly launched the Food Safety Information Portal at antoanthucpham.hanoi.gov.vn.

Attendees included Ms. Vu Thu Ha, a member of the Hanoi Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, and Standing Deputy Head of the city’s Food Safety Task Force; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Hoa, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; Mr. Pham Tuan Long, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports; as well as representatives of various departments, sectors, and localities, along with numerous businesses, food production and trading establishments, and culinary associations.

Official, centralised, and transparent information hub

More than just a digital platform, the portal is positioned as the city’s official, centralised, and transparent hub for food safety information. As this issue directly affects public health and social trust, the establishment of a unified digital information system is expected to address data fragmentation, enhance operational efficiency, and enable greater public oversight.

The portal provides comprehensive, timely information on directives, operational activities, inspection results, enforcement actions, lists of compliant and non-compliant establishments, and warnings and advisories for both citizens and businesses.

More than just a digital platform, the portal is identified as the official, centralised, and transparent information hub on food safety for the city.

A highlight of the system is its function to receive, process, and publicly disclose citizen feedback. Instead of one-way information, citizens can report food safety violations, track processing progress, and access feedback results all on the same platform.

Through this, a closed-loop process from recording, classifying, processing, responding, and disclosing is formed, contributing to increased transparency and accountability in state management.

The portal also introduces a new approach to community-participatory management. Citizens and businesses can search for information, submit feedback, and track the processing of their submissions on a centralised platform, rather than navigating multiple disparate channels as before.

For the press, the portal serves as an official and systematic source of data, effectively supporting communication efforts to raise public awareness of food safety.

Notably, the portal is designed to be user-friendly, closely reflecting Hanoi’s cultural and culinary identity, and features an intuitive interface that works seamlessly across various devices. Going forward, the system will continue to be refined, with expanded interactive and search functions, moving towards a more comprehensive digital information platform in food safety.

Speaking at the Launch Ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha affirmed that the construction and operation of the Food Safety Information Portal aim to concretise the requirement for publicising and transparency of information in areas directly related to public health.

Encouraging proactive disclosure of origin, records, and food safety conditions

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Vu Thu Ha affirmed that the development and operation of the Food Safety Information Portal aim to concretise requirements for transparency and public disclosure of information in areas directly related to public health.

According to Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Hanoi recognises that complex issues such as food safety require the involvement of the entire political system, as well as businesses and citizens. The city is implementing a range of solutions to build a “friendly, hospitable, and comprehensively safe” capital, with food safety as a key pillar.

The portal will publicise directives, inspection results, and enforcement actions, while also recognising and promoting best practices, thereby providing a foundation for public oversight and feedback based on transparent information.

Emphasising the role of communication, the Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee urged each delegate attending the event to act as a “dissemination channel”, helping to raise awareness and promote action within the community.

The city also calls on organisations, individuals, and businesses in the food sector to proactively disclose information on origin, documentation, and conditions to ensure food safety. Transparent and compliant entities will be supported and featured on the portal, thereby enhancing consumer trust and credibility.

Acknowledging the efforts of the implementing units, particularly the Department of Culture and Sports, the Vice Chairwoman expressed her expectation that the portal will operate effectively, becoming a practical tool that contributes to protecting the health of families and communities, and to building an increasingly safe and civilised capital.
