Ha Noi has become more modernized in recent years with an increasing number of bridges spanning Hong (Red) river, playing an important role in facilitating the capital city’s transport.
Vinh Tuy bridge, one of seven bridges in Ha Noi crossing the Red River, was inaugurated in 2010. Construction of the bridge started on February 3, 2005 with a total investment of nearly 3.6 trillion in the first phase. Thanh Tri bridge (completed 2008) is the largest one spanning Red River, connecting Hoang Mai and Long Bien districts. It is one of the longest and widest reinforced concrete bridges in Viet Nam.
