During the meeting, General Secretary To Lam welcomed the corporate leaders and expressed thanks for the support, commitment, and practical contributions of the international business community to Vietnam's socio-economic development over the years.

The General Secretary commended the Asia Business Council for organizing the Spring Forum 2026 in Hanoi on the theme “Asia and the Future of Global Supply Chains”. This comes at a time when global supply chains are undergoing significant restructuring and shifts, with digital transformation and artificial intelligence emerging as new infrastructures for production and trade. Businesses play a crucial role in shaping new value chains, promoting trade, investment, technology, and data flows, and connecting economies more effectively, sustainably, inclusively, and resiliently against all challenges and crises.

Emphasizing that Vietnam's economy is a socialist-oriented market economy under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and state management, the General Secretary shared Vietnam's development achievements and major orientations aimed at creating a stable, transparent, and highly adaptable environment. This will position Vietnam as a strategic destination for global investment flows and a center for scientific, technological, innovative, and digital transformation development.

The General Secretary highlighted that the 14th National Party Congress has set out Vietnam's long-term visions and orientations, particularly establishing a new development model based on five strategic pillars: Completing a modern, transparent, and highly predictable institutional framework; Developing synchronized and modern infrastructure; Developing high-quality human resources leveraging a large population and demographic dividend; Using science, technology, and innovation as the main drivers, “leapfrogging” in accessing and mastering advanced technologies; Green and sustainable development based on a green economy, green society, and inclusivity.

In this process, Vietnam identifies the private economy as a crucial growth driver; the foreign-invested economy as an important part of the economy, treated equally, encouraged for long-term, sustainable development, cooperation, linkage, and healthy competition with other economic sectors. Vietnam is ready to accompany businesses in creating more efficient, greener, more sustainable, and resilient supply chains; committed to being a reliable partner, a responsible member, and an attractive destination in the global and regional economic network.

On this occasion, the General Secretary thanked and welcomed the practical statements and proposals at the meeting, reflecting the interest, understanding, and aspirations of businesses towards the Vietnamese market and economy. He affirmed that Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs will be encouraged to expand cooperation and partnerships with foreign enterprises. He will direct Vietnamese legislative, executive, and judicial bodies, as well as agencies within the political system, to create the most favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs to grow, expand international cooperation, and rise to regional and international levels in the global supply chain.
