Accompanying and bidding farewell to General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, were Liu Jianchao, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Head of the CPC Central Committee’s International Liaison Department, and Chen Gang, member of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
During the visit, General Secretary, State President To Lam held talks with General Secretary, President of China Xi Jinping; witnessed the signing of numerous significant cooperation documents between the two countries; met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council; visited and delivered a policy speech at Tsinghua University; toured the Xiong'an New Area (Hebei Province); and visited the China-ASEAN AI Innovation Cooperation Center.
On this occasion, General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse met and conversed with staff of the Vietnamese representative missions and the Vietnamese community in China; met with families of former Chinese experts and advisors who had assisted Vietnam; attended the Vietnam-China Friendship Art Program; visited the Central School Campus relic (Duc Tai School, Nanning, Guangxi); and participated in the Launch Ceremony of the Vietnam-China Border People Exchange Festival...
In a cordial, friendly, and frank atmosphere, during the meetings, the highest leaders of the two Parties and countries extensively and comprehensively exchanged views on the situation in each country, the relations between the two Parties and countries, and regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Both General Secretaries, Presidents expressed their delight at the positive developments in the relations between the two Parties and countries in recent times, notably the close high-level strategic exchanges, increasingly comprehensive, rich, and trustworthy cooperation mechanisms; security-defense cooperation transitioning from exchanges to more substantive cooperation; breakthroughs in economic-trade cooperation, investment, and transportation connectivity; vibrant local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges; and increasingly close multilateral coordination.
The two leaders affirmed that in the complex international context, the two Parties and countries need to closely unite, strengthen strategic trust, connect policies, trade, infrastructure, and energy, and continue to deepen and elevate Vietnam-China relations in the new phase, making practical contributions to peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Regarding the future development direction of the relations between the two Parties and countries, the two leaders affirmed they would continue to direct levels and sectors to adhere to the overall "6 more" goals, maintain regular high-level exchanges, effectively promote the important guiding role of the Party channel, enhance substantive cooperation in various fields, consolidate the social foundation for bilateral relations, closely coordinate in multilateral mechanisms, and better control and resolve existing issues and disagreements.
The two leaders officially announced the launch of the "Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027", agreeing to boost cooperation activities, promote tourism promotion, enhance infrastructure and tourism services, and maintain and strengthen their positions as each other's largest tourist markets.
During the visit, the two sides signed cooperation documents in various fields including Party channel cooperation, public security, judiciary, economy, production chains, supply chains, customs cooperation, science and technology, people's livelihood, human resource development, media, and local cooperation.
At the conclusion of the visit, the two sides issued a Vietnam-China Joint Statement on continuing to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the construction of a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future that carries strategic significance at a higher level in the new era.
The state visit of General Secretary, President To Lam to China was a resounding success, making a positive contribution to promoting the traditional Vietnam-China friendship, accelerating the construction of a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future of strategic significance, and promoting peace, stability, and development, prosperity in the region and the world.
