During the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed Eric Schmidt and the delegation to Vietnam; he highly appreciated Eric Schmidt's contributions to the development of global technology and artificial intelligence.

The General Secretary and President also commended Eric Schmidt and the delegation for actively collaborating with Vietnamese agencies in implementing cooperation programs in AI, high technology, and innovation.

The General Secretary and President emphasized that Vietnam is accelerating its growth model transformation, leveraging science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers to enhance competitiveness and promote rapid, sustainable development, aiming to become a developed, high-income nation by 2045.

In this spirit, the General Secretary and President urged Eric Schmidt and the expert delegation to continue supporting Vietnam in building a vision, policies, and ecosystem for AI development; connecting international resources, technology enterprises, investment funds, research institutes, and leading global experts to support Vietnam in developing human resources, technology enterprises, and innovation capacity.

Additionally, the General Secretary and President requested that delegation members, including Christopher Nguyen, CEO of Aitomatic, continue to encourage Vietnamese experts, intellectuals, and tech entrepreneurs abroad to contribute their knowledge, experience, and resources to the country's development.

Eric Schmidt expressed his honor to be received by General Secretary and President To Lam; he praised Vietnam's development and the vision and determination for innovation of Vietnamese leaders, particularly in science, technology, and innovation.

He noted that Vietnam has favorable conditions for AI development, especially with its young, dynamic workforce, quick adaptability, and increasingly conducive environment for innovation. He expressed confidence that AI will contribute even more to Vietnam's growth.

Eric Schmidt reported to the General Secretary and President that he is working with Vietnamese partners to implement AI cooperation initiatives such as the Tapestry National Multi-Platform Model Project, the Data OS and Physical Production Project, as well as AI applications in general education.

He affirmed his commitment to leveraging his experience and extensive cooperation network in technology to connect Vietnam with suitable partners, supporting Vietnam in promoting digital transformation, AI development, and enhancing innovation capacity.

The former Chairman of Google also expressed his hope to continue discussions with Vietnamese agencies, businesses, research institutes, universities, and experts to seek practical cooperation in human resource training, research and development, supporting technology enterprises, and applying AI in socio-economic fields.

Sharing that there is still significant potential for cooperation between Vietnamese and U.S. partners as well as globally, Eric Schmidt affirmed his commitment to further thinking and efforts to make practical contributions to the development of science, technology, and AI in Vietnam.
