On the afternoon of May 27, General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, arrived at Udon Thani International Airport (Udon Thani Province) to begin an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and his spouse from May 27-29.

Welcoming General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the airport, on the Thai side were: Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand Watcharaphon Khaokham; leaders of Udon Thani Province…

On the Vietnamese side were: Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Pham Viet Hung and his spouse; Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen Dinh Hoang Linh and his spouse; officials from the Vietnamese Embassy, Consulate General, and the Vietnamese community in Thailand.

Upon arrival at Udon Thani International Airport, General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site and met with the Vietnamese community in Thailand.

Vietnam and Thailand are close neighbors with many shared interests in maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region. Over nearly 50 years of diplomatic relations (1976-2026), the relationship between the two countries has been continuously strengthened and developed robustly and comprehensively, becoming one of the most dynamic and effective relationships within ASEAN.

Recently, Vietnam-Thailand relations have seen very positive, substantive, and comprehensive developments.

The two countries have upgraded their relationship from a Strategic Partnership to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership, and now to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reflecting the increasing political trust between the two sides.

This official visit by General Secretary, President To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to Thailand, demonstrates Vietnam's high regard for its relationship with Thailand as well as with the Southeast Asian region.

This is also an opportunity for the high-level leaders of the two countries to engage in extensive discussions on major directions to effectively implement the new cooperation framework, thereby creating additional momentum for bilateral relations in the future.
