In his remarks at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn urged U.S. businesses to support Vietnam in achieving its development goals by 2030. He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to reaching 8% growth in 2025 and pursuing double-digit expansion in the following years, with a strong focus on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key drivers of economic progress.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to fostering a favorable business environment for foreign investors, including U.S. enterprises. He also underscored the Government’s determination to streamline administrative structures at all levels, across both the Party and state agencies, to enhance governance efficiency, remove development bottlenecks, and simplify investment and business procedures.

The Vietnamese Government also encourages U.S. businesses to introduce innovative solutions that benefit both sides, particularly by expanding imports of American goods and materials. This, he noted, would help balance trade, enhance competitiveness, and foster stable, sustainable economic ties.
In that spirit, the Deputy Prime Minister hopes that U.S. businesses, with their important role, will continue to voice support and take actions to promote harmonious, stable, and mutually beneficial economic, trade, and investment relations between the two countries.

Looking back on the 30-year journey since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: "We have every reason to take pride in the remarkable and unprecedented progress in Vietnam-U.S. relations."

Through the ups and downs of history, this relationship has truly become a model in international relations, having been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening up numerous new cooperation opportunities. Among these, economic, trade, and investment ties remain the core foundation and a key driving force of bilateral relations. What President Ho Chi Minh envisioned at the very founding of the nation 80 years ago has finally become a reality.

U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper expressed his appreciation for Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son’s remarks and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to further strengthen and deepen the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper emphasized that 2025 holds great significance as the two nations commemorate 30 years of diplomatic relations. He noted that, built on shared understanding and strategic vision, Vietnam-U.S. ties have reached a historic milestone.
