Minister Le Hoai Trung once again expressed his deep condolences over the tourist boat accident that occurred on July 11 in the waters of An Giang province. Conveying sincere sympathies to the Government and people of India, especially the families of the victims, the Minister shared that the Vietnamese leadership is particularly concerned about the incident. They have sent condolences to Indian leaders and instructed relevant agencies to urgently coordinate closely with the Indian side and implement all measures for search and rescue, medical treatment for the injured, support for the relatives, and repatriation of the victims' remains.
The Minister appreciated the effective coordination of the Indian Representative Missions in Vietnam during the handling of the incident. He also emphasized that Vietnamese authorities are urgently investigating the cause of the accident, strictly handling any violations if found, and strengthening safety regulations to prevent similar incidents.

Ambassador Tshering Sherpa expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the timely attention, sharing, and support from the leaders of the Party, State, Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the An Giang provincial authorities, and various Vietnamese agencies since the incident occurred.
The Ambassador said that with the close and effective support of Vietnamese agencies, all the victims' remains have been repatriated for their families and relatives to conduct funeral rites according to customs, and the injured have been well cared for and are gradually recovering.
Expressing his emotions over the sincere sentiments of the Vietnamese people, the Ambassador affirmed that the condolences, encouragement, and genuine sharing have provided strength for the Government, people of India, and the victims' families to overcome this great loss.
Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that this close friendship is a valuable asset of the two nations, serving as a foundation for the further development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India.
The Minister thanked the Indian Embassy for its close coordination in implementing the results of the state visit to India last May by General Secretary and President To Lam. He suggested that both sides work together to comprehensively, effectively, and timely implement high-level agreements, regularly review and promptly address difficulties and obstacles, and ensure the enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework continues to be effective and substantive.
