First Vietnam - Turkey Maritime Dialogue held in Hanoi

WVR - On September 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, organized the first Vietnam - Turkey Maritime Dialogue in Hanoi.

Leading the Turkish delegation was Mr. Ferit Orcun Basaran, Deputy Director General responsible for the Northeastern Mediterranean region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. The Vietnamese inter-agency delegation was led by Tran Van Thuy, Deputy Chairman of the National Boundary Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a spirit of friendship, cooperation, and mutual trust, both sides exchanged views on ocean and maritime law issues of mutual concern, as well as opportunities and directions to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the future, for peace, stability, and the rule of law at sea.

The dialogue was a resounding success, making a practical contribution to the ongoing strengthening and development of the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.
