Embassy of India handed over 1 million USD cheque to Viet Nam's MOD

In a simple ceremony on August 11, Ambassador of India to Viet Nam Pranay Verma handed over a cheque for 1 million USD to Sr Lt Gen Hoang Xuan Chien, Viet Nam’s Deputy Minister of National Defense.
At the event, Ambassador Pranay Verma affirmed India’s commitment to assist Viet Nam in strengthening its IT and Defense capacities. He added that this important project will contribute to the further deepening of the India-Viet Nam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

This is the first tranche of 5 million USD grant assistance provided by Government of India to Viet Nam’s Ministry of National Defense for the establishment of the Army Software Park at Telecommunication University in Nha Trang.
An agreement for the implementation of this project was concluded between the two sides on the margins of the virtual summit held on 21st December 2020 between the Prime Ministers of the two countries.
The new building of the Army Software Park was inaugurated on 12th January 2021 at Nha Trang. India’s grant assistance of USD 5 million shall be utilized for establishing the Park’s IT infrastructure.

The Army Software Park is a modern symbol of the long-standing Defense partnership between India and Viet Nam and will play an important role in IT and language training for Defense forces of Viet Nam.
