Mr. Mohamed Atef respectfully conveyed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's congratulations to the Government and People of Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th National Day on September 2. He also congratulated Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong on his new tenure in Egypt.
Mr. Atef affirmed that Vietnam and Egypt have a long-standing traditional friendship. Notably, the recent successful state visit by President Luong Cuong to Egypt marked an important milestone, opening a new phase of cooperation between the two countries. He announced that Egypt is currently expediting necessary tasks to concretize the cooperation achievements made during the visit.
In response, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong expressed his gratitude for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's congratulations to the Government and People of Vietnam on this significant national occasion. He expressed his honor and pride in being appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Egypt – a country with an ancient and vibrant civilization, sharing a traditional friendship nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both nations for over 60 years.
Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong affirmed his commitment to closely coordinate with the Presidential Office and relevant Egyptian agencies to implement the outcomes of President Luong Cuong's visit. Initially, this involves developing an Action Program to realize the Comprehensive Partnership framework and advancing cooperation proposals, including promoting research and promptly initiating negotiations for a free trade agreement between Vietnam and Egypt, to facilitate trade, services, and investment between the two countries.
The Ambassador is confident that the strong existing relationship between Vietnam and Egypt, along with their political, historical similarities and deep mutual affection, will continue to be a strength and a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation in the future.
