Deputy FM Nguyen Minh Hang receives former U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel Kritenbrink in Hanoi
WVR - On the afternoon of August 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang received Daniel Kritenbrink, former U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam and partner at The Asia Group (TAG), to discuss Vietnam-U.S. economic relations and preparations for APEC 2027.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the significant contributions of former Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink to Vietnam-U.S. relations, as well as TAG's efforts in connecting the business communities of the two countries.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam values the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the United States and seeks to further promote balanced and sustainable economic and trade cooperation. She shared positive outcomes from the ongoing negotiations of the bilateral trade agreement and expressed optimism about the prospect of concluding the talks soon.
Discussing APEC cooperation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang emphasised that APEC 2027 is a key multilateral event for Vietnam from now until 2030. Vietnam is actively collaborating with member economies, the business community, and relevant parties to develop a practical agenda that ensures continuity and meets the new development demands of the region.
Vietnam places special importance on the role and voice of the private sector, including the U.S. business community, considering it a crucial factor contributing to APEC's value. The Deputy Minister looks forward to the active participation of TAG and U.S. businesses at the APEC Business Summit and other APEC 2027 events in Vietnam.

Commending Vietnam's proactive and swift approach in hosting APEC for the third time, former Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink affirmed that he and TAG are ready to collaborate with Vietnam, leveraging their network of businesses and international experts to make a substantial contribution to the success of APEC 2027.
Former Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink proposed coordinating several business activities to implement Vietnam's priorities for 2027, while also offering specific recommendations to enhance cooperation between businesses of the two countries, ensuring it is increasingly effective, fair, and contributes to a balanced, sustainable, and mutually beneficial Vietnam-U.S. economic relationship.
