DAV students embody young aspirations on the diplomatic front

President Ho Chi Minh once said: “Youth is the backbone of the country, the future owners of the nation. The prosperity or decline, strength or weakness of the country largely depends on the youth.” Inspired by his words, the young generation of Vietnam continuously learns, innovates, and creates to contribute maximally to the sustainable development of the country, representing the image of Vietnamese youth to international friends.
For the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV)– proud to study and train at an institution that has produced many generations of diplomats, outstanding figures in modern Vietnamese diplomacy – they are always mindful and strive for the goal: “Learn to serve and lead”.
Learn to serve
With the spirit of “learn to serve”, “learning goes hand in hand with practice”, students of the Diplomatic Academy have applied their classroom knowledge to practical activities. When Vietnam hosted the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G 2025) Summit in Hanoi in April 2025, more than 200 students from the Diplomatic Academy not only assisted in organizing and logistics but also actively and effectively contributed to other tasks such as translating documents, welcoming delegates, and supporting organization, coordination, and participation in discussion sessions.

Nguyen Quynh Trang, one of the outstanding students of the Diplomatic Academy who supported the conference, shared: “More than a month of participating in supporting the P4G 2025 Summit has left me with many valuable lessons and unforgettable memories. I got acquainted with a professional working environment, learning experiences in organizing international events. The days of translating documents, welcoming domestic and international delegates, and preparing for discussion sessions will be unforgettable experiences for me and my fellow students at the Diplomatic Academy. These are invaluable assets, boosting our confidence and motivation to continue studying, training, and striving to become future diplomats, contributing to the country's development.”
Learn to lead
Besides the goal and responsibility to study well to “serve” the country, the young generation of Vietnam in general and students of the Diplomatic Academy today also carry the mission to “lead”, especially in the new context, the “essential, regular” task of Vietnam's diplomatic sector. With innovative thinking, creativity, and a spirit of learning, the young generation of the Diplomatic Academy has been making practical contributions to promoting international cooperation, helping to spread the image of the country to international friends.
The pioneering, “leading” role of Vietnamese youth and students of the Diplomatic Academy is not only demonstrated through thoughts and words but also in specific actions. One of these pioneering activities is participating in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. At these events, Vietnamese youth have been actively involved in proposing solutions to urgent issues such as climate change, arms race, or preserving national identity in the process of international integration.

Young people not only participate in discussions but also boldly propose innovative initiatives and solutions aimed at maintaining a peaceful environment and promoting sustainable development. These initiatives not only demonstrate students' knowledge of current global issues but also reflect their daring spirit, willingness to act, and perspectives on regional and international matters.
Vietnam's impressions
Today's Vietnamese youth not only participate but also play a leading role, leaving a strong impression at international youth forums. At the World Youth Festival held in Sochi, Russia in March 2024, the Vietnamese delegation actively engaged in cultural exchanges and international dialogues. The Vietnamese delegation, including students, officials, young doctors, and even armed forces, participated in the event, showcasing the proactive, confident spirit and aspirations of the young Vietnamese generation.

At the second ASEAN Future Forum held in Hanoi in February 2025, exemplary Vietnamese students actively participated in discussions on important issues such as sustainable development, climate change, and cybersecurity, contributing many valuable ideas and initiatives for the region's future. Notably, Diplomatic Academy students were also selected as liaisons, supporting delegates attending the Forum. This not only demonstrates the professionalism and confidence of the students but also affirms the distinctive identity of Diplomatic Academy students: the spirit of “serving” the nation, always ready to contribute their utmost in each specific task assigned.
At the 5th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Simulation Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in September 2025, representatives of Vietnamese youth actively participated in discussions and contributed to resolutions on parliamentary cooperation and sustainable development within ASEAN. These contributions not only affirm the capabilities and pioneering spirit of the young Vietnamese generation but also elevate the country's stature within the ASEAN community, reflecting the strong commitment of Vietnamese youth to regional and global development.

New development motivation
With creativity and relentless aspirations, the young generation of Vietnam, particularly students of the Diplomatic Academy, are among the “vanguard” forces on the diplomatic front, making specific, practical contributions to implementing the foreign policy of the Party and State, continuing to spread the image of a Vietnam with new potential, role, and stature. As General Secretary To Lam affirmed: youth is the pillar to lead the country into a new era, and the pioneering force in new fields.
With an unyielding aspiration to rise and youthful energy, Vietnamese youth, including diplomatic students, always strive their best, contributing their small part to the construction and defense of the nation from afar, dedicating creativity, intellect, and enthusiasm to the common cause. Let us act together and continuously learn, innovate to further affirm the value of Vietnamese diplomatic students, spreading and elevating the country's stature to stand shoulder to shoulder with friends worldwide, as cherished by beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
