Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province was affected by the typhoon Yagi natural disaster that occurred in Vietnam in last September.
The event, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, was supported by the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, Nha Trang Bay Group and a representative of the World Barbecue Association.
The event was attended by Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and other regional officials, as well as the ambassadors of Pakistan, Algeria, Mongolia and South Africa to Vietnam.
Opening the event, Tran Huy Tuan thanked the organizers for the event for the schoolchildren and talked about the rich cultural identity of many ethnic minorities living in Yen Bai Province, the province's diverse natural resources, clean ecological environment and splendid nature.
He said the province has potential that promises many opportunities for cooperation, investment and development. The committee chairman emphasized that the typhoon has affected the people and children in addition to causing serious damage to the region.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Shovgi Mehdizade made a speech, expressed gratitude to the provincial leadership for hospitality and emphasized that the foundation of friendly relations between the two countries was laid by historical visits of Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh to Baku in 1959 and great Azerbaijani leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam in 1983.
The Ambassador said that this event held in the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan coincided with the first day of the historic visit of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam as First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers on October 26, 1983, and that the Great Leader has always been a true friend of the Vietnamese people.
In his speech, the Ambassador highly appreciated the activity of Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism and thanked the college management for organizing jointly with the Embassy the presentation of Azerbaijani cuisine for schoolchildren of the region affected by typhoon Yagi.
Then the representative of the World Barbecue Association, famous international chef David Israfilov presented samples of Azerbaijani cuisine, at the same time a cooking competition was organized with the participation of 350 students, prizes were awarded to the winners. Each student was given a culinary apron with the image of the flags of Azerbaijan and Vietnam. At the same time, food and school supplies were given to schoolchildren.
