In September alone, the country's CPI increased by 0.29%. Nine out of the 11 main groups of goods and services saw growing prices in the month.
The education group in September increased by 2.09%, of which the price of educational service increased by 2.33% due to some localities adjusting tuition fees applicable for the 2024-2025 academic year in some private schools at all levels, vocational schools, colleges, universities and postgraduate programmes. Mewnwhile, the price of food and catering services was up 0.92% in September.
In contrast, transport costs recorded a decrease of 2.77% in the reviewed month.
Also in the month, domestic gold prices rose 1.88% compared to August, while surging by 22,66% to December last year, and 32.27% year-on-year. In the past three quarters, domestic gold price was up 26.27%.
The GSO also said that core inflation in September soared 0.27% month-on-month, and 2.54% against the same time last year.
On average, the January-September CPI rose by 3.88% year-on-year, while core inflation increased by 2.69%.
