Firstly, the coordinated work of communication on islands and islands always receives regular, continuous, comprehensive and effective leadership, direction, coordination and assistance from the party, authorities and people of localities, central agencies, departments and ministries. Many movements such as "Love for borders and islands"; "Journey for the homeland's sea and islands"; Map exhibition activities and document display about the sea and islands are effective and have strong pervasiveness.

Secondly, coordinated communication activities for the sea and islands have closely followed reality, been deployed actively, proactively, and responsibly at many levels and sectors, with many participating forces, diverse in content, and rich in form of implementation. Agencies and units in the Army have coordinated with units and localities to organize 950 information sessions with more than 450,000 participants; Central and local news and press agencies coordinated to publish 9,760 news, articles, reports, photos and clips of activities to protect sovereignty over seas and islands of the Vietnam People's Navy.

Third, through coordinated communication work on sea and islands, it contributes to fostering sentiments, promoting patriotic traditions, national pride and strengthening the people's confidence in the Party's leadership and the State management. Through material and spiritual support activities, the political and spiritual potential and people's morale at sea are increasingly strengthened; the position and power of the Fatherland's islands, especially Truong Sa, the DKI rig are increasingly solid. The Navy successfully organized 21 train trips and 2 plane trips to welcome 4,431 delegates from central departments, ministries, branches, localities, businesses, social organizations and overseas Vietnamese to visit Truong Sa (Spratly), DKI and islands in the southwest sea of the country.

Fourth, through coordinated communication activities over sea and islands, it has helped party committees, local authorities, agencies and units have the conditions to research and grasp the actual situation and developments at sea to serve leadership, direction, and state management of the sea and islands in general and propaganda activities on the sea and islands in particular.

To ensure the continuity

According to Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen, the communication work on sea and islands cannot end nor stop. To successfully carry out the assigned tasks, Rear Admiral Pham Van Luyen emphasized a number of important tasks in the coming time for the Navy.

Specifically, the Navy needs to thoroughly grasp the resolutions, directives, and conclusions of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands; proactively research and grasp developments at sea to improve the ability to analyze, evaluate, forecast, and promptly advise the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on policies and strategic measures; flexibly and properly handle complex situations at sea, without being passive or surprised; promptly provide official information and orientation to officers, soldiers and people when there are complicated situations in the field.

In addition, directing forces on duty at sea is very important in order to promptly detect and demonstrate a resolute fight against forces that violate our sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction on the seas and islands; communicating and mobilizing fishermen not to exploit illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing; promoting well the ship locks and fishing villages on the Truong Sa archipelago and the forces on duty on the islands and rigs to be ready to help people prevent, combat and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue, is always a solid support for fishermen to feel secure in going offshore and clinging to the sea.

Moreover, the Navy needs to continue to well implement the coordinated sea and island communication program signed with localities, agencies and units. This coordination focuses on improving the quality of conferences, seminars and exhibitions; organizing delegations to visit the Truong Sa archipelago, the DKI platform and island routes across the country; combining communication work with well-organized movements and campaigns towards the sea and islands launched by the Central Government, localities and units.

At the same time, the Navy also needs to coordinate efforts to cover the important political events of the country, the Army and the Navy; show examples of will, determination, and high responsibility in performing tasks; the concern of the Party, State and People for the military and people of Truong Sa island district, DKI rig and the seas and islands of the Fatherland.

Clearly, the situation in the East Sea is expected to remain difficult and complicated, so the communication work on sea and islands needs to be implemented actively and effectively, contributing to fulfilling the sacred task of the protection of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
