During the event, Jussi Salovaara, co-founder and managing partner of Antler in Asia, spoke about the firm’s mission to back the world’s most driven founders from day zero to greatness. He emphasised that Antler is fuelled by a passion that goes beyond traditional investing, having created and invested in more than 750 startups globally and over 220 startups in ASEAN. Antler is currently the most active investor in the region and worldwide.
A total of 39 startups have engaged with the top investors in Southeast Asia. Some of the prominent sectors represented by those startups include climate tech, health, property, finance, software as a service, and many more.
Salovaara said, “We seek out visionary founders who possess a proven track record of accomplishments, whether through successful ventures of their own or through their involvement with startups and established corporate entities.”
“With a sector-agnostic approach, we focus on early-stage investments and place significant emphasis on the calibre and potential of the founders themselves, recognising that business models may evolve and adapt over time to suit market dynamics and emerging opportunities,” he added.
