Recently, in Istanbul, Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Dang Thi Thu Ha held a meeting with the Vietnamese community. The event was attended by officials from the Embassy, the Trade Office in Istanbul, as well as overseas Vietnamese and students living in the country.
Ambassador Dang Thi Thu Ha provided updates on Vietnam's socio-economic situation, highlighting the country’s achievements over 40 years of Doi moi (Renewal) and emphasizing the efforts of the entire political system to streamline the administrative apparatus as a driving force to usher the nation into a new era – an era of national rise.
The Ambassador also shared key developments in the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Turkey. She expressed hope that the Vietnamese community would continue to respect local laws, integrate further into society, and uphold the traditions of mutual support and solidarity. She called on them to nurture national pride, stay connected with their homeland, and contribute to building a united, strong Vietnamese community that accompanies the nation, especially during the pivotal period toward achieving the goals set for 2030 and 2045.

Representatives of the Vietnamese community in Turkey expressed their sincere appreciation for the Embassy’s support and voiced their determination to strengthen and unify the Vietnamese community in Turkey, with plans to establish a formal Vietnamese Association in the near future.
In a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, participants enjoyed traditional Vietnamese cuisine and sang the song "Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay vui dai thang" (As if Uncle Ho were here on great victory day).
There are currently about 200 Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in Turkey, primarily in Istanbul and Ankara. In general, they lead stable lives and have earned goodwill and support from local authorities and residents.
