On the afternoon of March 20, at the Ministry’s regular press conference, responding to question that U.S. Government will continue cooperation program to address war consequences in Vietnam, Spokesperson Hang said that cooperation in addressing war consequences remains a fundamental aspect of Vietnam-U.S. relations. This cooperation plays a crucial role in reconciliation, healing, and trust building between the two countries, paving the way for new cooperation opportunities in other important areas.
She informed that a number of joint projects between Vietnam and the U.S. in this field either continue to be implemented or are resumed, including projects on clearance of unexploded ordnance and the decontamination of Bien Hoa airport, .
The continued practical and effective implementation of these projects will make a meaningful contribution to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development between the two nations, the Spokesperson underscored.
.Also at the press conference, in response to a question regarding US tariff policies, Spokesperson Hang stated that Vietnam's position on the new trade measures introduced by the administration of President Donald Trump was clearly outlined on February 13, 2025..
She affirmed that under the comprehensive strategic partnership framework, Vietnam has been working closely with the US to maintain the positive momentum of bilateral trade agreements.
"In the coming time, Vietnam is ready to engage in constructive discussions with the U.S. and promote cooperation and information sharing to enhance mutual understanding and remove existing obstacles, thus ensuring stable and sustainable bilateral economic relations that benefit both sides," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.
