Activities mark 32nd anniversary of Viet Nam-Venezuela diplomatic ties

The Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela on November 6 held a cultural and culinary gala event at the Simón Bolívar theatre within the framework of the 17th Venezuela International Book Fair (FILVEN 2021) and as part of activities to mark the 32nd anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties (December 18).

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Viet Duyen affirmed the Vietnamese Government and people’s stance of always supporting and standing side by side with Venezuela in its national building and development.

The diplomat emphasized that the gala is a manifestation of the friendship and solidarity between the two countries through dances and songs about Viet Nam performed by Venezuelan artists, together with Viet Nam’s traditional dishes cooked by Espacio Viet Nam - the first Vietnamese restaurant in Caracas.

An art performance programme followed, including symphonies, and songs about Viet Nam performed by artist Ali Primera and Simón Bolívar orchestra, and dance performances, and an “ao dai” (Viet Nam’s traditional dress) show. The art programme is a blend of Vietnamese and Venezuelan music, songs, dances, costumes and people.

Within the framework of FILVEN 2021, the Ministry of Culture of Venezuela introduced the book "The process of renewing Vietnam's foreign policy with ASEAN in the 1986 – 2016 period".

Carolus Wimmer, head of the International Relations Committee under the Communist Party of Venezuela, and Chairman of the Venezuela - Vietnam Friendship Association, appreciated Viet Nam’s foreign policy in recent years.
