2023 National Press Festival to open from March 17-19

The opening and closing ceremonies will be broadcast live on national television and radio channels, and many others, according to Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VFA) Nguyen Duc Loi, Head of the Festival’s Organising Committee.
The festival will be co-chaired by the VJA and the Hanoi People’s Committee in coordination with the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
As the biggest festival in the press circle, the event is expected to bring together 63 Journalists’ Associations of cities and provinces and 60 central and local press agencies, with 87 booths displaying outstanding publications in 2022 and the first quarter of this year.
The organisers will present awards for the best Tet (Lunar New Year) magazine cover photo, the best news website design, and the best TV and radio programmes, along with an award for organisations and individuals with outstanding activities at the festival.
There will be a series of sidelines events like seminars, workshops, exhibitions, a singing contest, a football tournament and art performances.
Vice Chairman Loi stressed that the festival celebrates great achievements the country has recorded in reforms, highlights contributions and the strong development of Vietnam’s revolutionary press, and promotes press works.
It is also intended to enhance the exchange between journalists and readers, and honour contributions by individuals, organisations and businesses to Vietnam’s revolutionary press, he added.
